The 2019 NFL season is nearly upon us, and to celebrate I’m doing something new to introduce the new season of team media guides. Today’s edition covers the four squads of the NFC East — the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, and Oakland Raiders.

Here are the previous editions: AFC North | NFC North | AFC South | NFC South | AFC East | NFC East.

Denver Broncos

NFL Media Guide: Denver Broncos (2019)

As you might expect, Denver chose to honor late owner Pat Bowlen with this year’s cover. I’m not really the type of person to critique a tribute like this, so I’m not going to. Grade: n/a

Kansas City Chiefs

NFL Media Guide: Kansas City Chiefs (2019)

The Chiefs did a really nice job here, and I should add that they are consistently the one old AFL team that proudly displays that heritage. Nice color scheme, interesting background design, and cool wordmarks. Grade: A+

Los Angeles Chargers

NFL Media Guide: Los Angeles Chargers (2019)

Well look at that, another cool design from an original AFL squad. Bolt Up is a stupid slogan but everything else about this cover is excellent. You’d also be hard-pressed to come up with a more iconic foursome of Chargers than Dan Fouts, Junior Seau, Lance Alworth, and LaDainian Tomlinson. Grade: A-

Oakland Raiders

NFL Media Guide: Oakland Raiders (2019)

In typical Raiders style, this cover is stark and simple. So they are at least consistent on that front. I like their 60th anniversary logo, which recalls both their original uniform number font and the Al Davis Torch. Grade: A
