The 2022-23 EFL League Two season has drawn to a close and it’s time to recognize the clubs that will be leaving via promotion for EFL League One. This year the League Two promotions are Leyton Orient, Stevenage, and Northampton Town on points, and Carlisle United from winning the playoffs.

League Two points winners Leyton Orient were last in League One during the 2014-15 season. In fact, the had just returned to League Two after promotion from the National League four years ago. Stevenage, meanwhile, was mired in League Two for nearly a decade after dropping out of League One. The same goes for Carlisle United.

By contrast, Northampton Town is bouncing back up just after two seasons in League Two. Fans will be hoping this promotion is longer lasting than the last one I’m sure.
