The 2019 NFL season is nearly upon us, and to celebrate I’m doing something new to introduce the new season of team media guides. Today’s edition covers the four squads of the AFC East — the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and New York Jets.

Here are the previous editions: AFC North | NFC North | AFC South | NFC South.

Buffalo Bills

NFL Media Guide: Buffalo Bills (2019)

I’m going to assume that’s a stadium chant of some kind. Otherwise, nice color scheme and a decently attractive design. I wish they had emphasized that 60th anniversary team logo a little more, since I’m a huge AFL buff. Grade: B-

Miami Dolphins

NFL Media Guide: Miami Dolphins (2019)

This right here is the cream of the crop so far. Someone in Miami’s media department appreciates the team’s history and it shows. This design pays direct homage to the media guide design the team used through much of the 1970s and into the 1980s (example: 1979). Grade: A+

New England Patriots

I guess at a certain point you earn so many Lombardi trophies it becomes impractical to show them all on a cover. But featuring your newest one is certainly the logical way to go. Grade: B

New York Jets

NFL Media Guide: New York Jets (2019)

This is a very nice design with one notable problem: That’s the New York City skyline and the Jets don’t play there. Yeah I know it’s a tired argument, but I was born in New Jersey and this crap irritates me. Grade: D
