The purpose of this sports infographic is pretty straightforward. It provides a map of all current venues being used by all the North American pro sports leagues I keep track of — NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS, and CFL — and color codes them according to age. You can drill down into specific leagues or states/provinces to get a closer look.
Also on this Tableau visualization is a bar graph showing the age of each venue arranged by league, with each league’s average venue age shown. Also, each league’s oldest and newest arenas and stadiums have their age listed automatically.
Eventually I’ll likely add more information on things like venue type (closed vs. open-air) and capacity. In the meantime, enjoy what’s here!
