Here’s a great ticket stub from a September 4, 1950 NFL preseason game between a pair of defunct franchises — the Baltimore Colts (a different Colts than the current team) and New York Yanks. It was held at State Fair Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana. The Colts were destroyed, 42-17, in what was a harbinger of things to come. The team won just one game during the regular season and gave up 50+ points three times.
The Yanks, meanwhile, finished the 1950 campaign with a respectable 7-5 record.
1950 was the one and only season in the league for Baltimore, while the Yanks disappeared after 1951.
