The 2021-22 EFL League Two season has drawn to a close and it’s time to recognize the clubs that will be leaving via promotion for EFL League One. This year the League Two promotions are Forest Green Rovers, Exeter City, and Bristol Rovers on points, and Port Vale from winning the playoffs.
For Forest Green Rovers, the 2022-23 season will be their first in League One or its equivalent. Exeter City will mark its return to League One competition for the first time in just over a decade. Bristol Rovers, by contrast, are right back up after just one season in League Two.
Port Vale, this year’s playoff promotion winner, will return to League One after an absence of five seasons.
