For the first edition of this series I’m bringing you a great and rather intense portrait of the great Babe Ruth from his time with the Boston Red Sox. This images dates from 1916, when Ruth was still primarily a pitcher. In fact, 1916 was his career year on the mound — he led the American League in ERA and shutouts, and won 23 of his 40 starts.
