One of my favorite rivalries resumes this weekend when the #6 Michigan Wolverines travel to East Lansing to tackle the #24 Michigan State Spartans. The two schools have met annually since 1925, although it wasn’t until the late ’50s that they started alternating sites. Prior to 1958 the Spartans had only played in Ann Arbor twice.
This week’s flashback looks over the history of the rivalry by presenting one Spartan home program from each decade they two have played, starting with the very first one in 1948 at Macklin Stadium.
