The Philadelphia Flyers Are Coming!

Spotted this beauty in a 1966 Philadelphia Eagles program — it’s promo and season ticket application for the Philadelphia Flyers, one of the NHL’s six new expansion teams scheduled to begin play in the 1967-68 season. Dig this beauty:

Check out those prices! $247.50 for a box seat would cost about $1800 in 2016 dollars. I’d say that’s a bargain, especially considering the Flyers finished their inaugural campaign by winning the West Division. Unfortunately season ticket holders lost out on the last 7 games of the season after a March 1968 snowstorm damaged part of the Spectrum’s roof.

And yes, let’s take a moment to acknowledge that Flyer mascot drawing on the right.
