When it comes to NHL franchises, Atlanta just can’t seem to hold onto one. Most recently, the city lost the Thrashers in 2011 when they moved to Canada to become the new Winnipeg Jets.
But more than two decades before that, Atlanta lost its first NHL team — the Flames. Here’s the team guide from their last season there.

That’s an illustration of Guy Chouinard, who was drafted by Atlanta in 1974.
This team also moved north of the border, becoming the Calgary Flames for the 1980-81 season. And for the team’s first home game there, they brought out none other than Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz.

It wasn’t what you’d hope for in a home town debut — the Flames tied the Quebec Nordiques with 5 goals.
