Congratulations are in order for Brighton & Hove Albion, who have earned a return trip to the pinnacle of English football — the Premier League — after more than three decades away. To date the Seagulls have spent just four seasons out of almost 90 in their existence in the top tier of football. Those four came consecutively from the 1979-80 through 1982-83, in the old First Division.

To commemorate Brighton’s triumphant return to the top, let’s look at a handful of home programs from their prior stay there:
