The 2024-25 National League season has drawn to a close and it’s time to recognize the clubs that will be leaving via promotion for English football pyramid. This year the National League promotions are Barnet on points and Oldham Athletic from winning the playoffs.
The Bees will be returning to the league after a full seven seasons in the National League. They have been either in the fourth or fifth level of the English pyramid every year since 1994-95. Will next season finally see them break through to the third level?
Oldham Athletic fans, on the other hand, will hope that the club’s last decade or so of futility is finally at an end. After several years in the third level of the pyramid they’ve been trending in the wrong direction for a while.
