CLEVELAND, SEPT. 25 (1954) — NEW LEAGUE RECORD — Manager Al Lopez congratulates Early Wynn for hurling a two-hit, 11-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers today and giving the Cleveland Indians 111 triumphs, an American League record. The old record of 110 in one season was set by the 1927 New York Yankees. Wynn holds a thermometer depicting the Tribe accomplishment.
