The matchups for this year’s League Championship Series are set. For the NLCS the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves are squaring off.
This year’s NLCS is a rematch of last year’s and is the fifth overall playoff meeting between the two franchises. The first was in the 1996 NLDS, which Atlanta swept in three games.
The next faceoff was also in the NLDS, this time in 2013. The Dodgers took this series three games to one.
There was another NLDS rematch five years later (2018), but unfortunately neither of those programs is in my collection. Then there was the aforementioned NLCS from last year’s COVID-shortened season. The Dodgers won in seven games at neutral Globe Life Field in Texas.
