It opened for play on Grand Opening Day, April 18, 1923, when the Yankees hosted the Boston Red Sox. Here&#8217;s the cover from the program\u00a0issued that day, featuring team owner\/president Jacob Ruppert and vice president Tillinghast L&#8217;Hommedieu &#8220;TL&#8221; Huston.
