Anyone with even a cursory knowledge of 1970s NFL history will know the year these slides were taken immediately — 1975. That is the one and only year the New York Giants wore their infamous disco uniforms, identifiable by the stylized “NY” on the helmet.<\/p>\n

To be more specific, these images were taken from New York’s October 12, 1975 home game against the Dallas Cowboys.<\/p>\n

The Giants spent the 1975 season at Shea Stadium — home of the Jets — while they awaited the opening of Giants Stadium at the Meadowlands in New Jersey the next year. They lost this game to Dallas, 13-7, and finished with a 5-9 record. Dallas, meanwhile, turned in a 10-4 record and ended up losing in Super Bowl X to the Steelers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
